Sean Doherty Tucker (born April 27 1952) is an American aerobatic pilot who is supported by Oracle Corporation and performs in air shows all over the world under the name “Team Oracle”. Tucker has been the winner of several air show championships throughout his career. He was admitted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame in 2008. He has been involved in numerous efforts to aid young people in learning to fly, or gaining experience in general aviation. He is currently the co-chairman for the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA)’s Young Eagles program.

The year 1997 was when Tucker began his Sean D. Tucker School of Aerobatic Flight with the goal to establish and spread the highest standards of safety in aerobatics and aviation in large. In 2004, as a result of an agreement with the Tutima Watch Company, the school was transformed into an institution known as Tutima Academy of Aviation Safety. The Academy is situated within King City, California, offers a wide range of classes such as stall/spin recognition, recuperation training as well as aerobatic skill as well as a low-level mentorship program, as well as aerobatic formation flight training.

In 2006, the elevator (pitch control) system in Tucker’s aerobatic aircraft broke during a practice aerobatic flight, forcing him to bail out over an empty farm field in Coushatta, Louisiana. He was uninjured, but the aircraft he was flying was destroyed.

In 2009, Tucker was featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show. The segment featured an interview with Oprah Winfrey and a video segment where Tucker took a 29 -year-old woman on an aerobatic flight to conquer her fear of flying.

In 1993, while Tucker was attempting to climb out of the stunt plane that he flew in the past the Pitts S-2S biplane, a rogue plane on the ground struck his plane. Tucker was unharmed, however the damage to the wings on the other side of the aircraft took about ten days to fix.
