Saif Uddin Ahmad (Bengali: saaiph uddin aahmd born on 27 February 1957) is a British human rights activist and Chief Executive Officer of the Al-Khair Foundation. He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the UK charity Muslim Aid and Islamic Help as well as the founder of the foundations Faith Regen foundation, MADE in Europe and Global One 2015.
The year 2006 was the time he took over as the CEO in 2006 of Muslim Aid. In Muslim Aid, he led an organisational development program that increased the revenue of the charity, and made the charity an essential global player in the field of development. He was able to establish relationships with a variety of funders and organizations, such as Department for International Development (DFID) organizations, ECHO and United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR).
In 2010, he founded Global One 2015, an international aid and development organisation with a focus on women’s and children’s livelihoods, WASH, maternal health and sustainable agriculture. In 2013, he was appointed CEO of Faith Regen Foundation and Islamic Help. In May 2015, he was appointed CEO of Al-Khair Foundation to spearhead and streamline its regional and international efforts.
Ahmad lives in London with his wife, Husna Ahmad, who is CEO of Global One 2015 and secretary-general at the World Muslim Leadership Forum. He has six children (born between 1983 and 2005).
The year 2001 was the time that Ahmad established in 2001 the Faith Regen Foundation The UK’s first multi-faith agency for regeneration which aims to provide employment and educational opportunities for a portion of the most disadvantaged communities in the UK.
