Jozak was raised in a family that included math and physics teachers. At twenty-two, he sustained a serious injury while playing for NK Orijent Rijeka. He decided to end his football career before it was over. He remained in Zagreb during the Croatian War of Independence. He was soon awarded a scholarship to America, where he worked as an instructor at youth camps. He returned to training with Ilija Loncarevic. After that, he assisted Ilija as an assistant at Dinamo Zagreb, the Libya team (2003-04 and 2005-2006), and NK Osijek (2006)-2008. He also completed his doctorate at the Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Zagreb.
Jozak was appointed manager of Legia Warsaw on 13 September 2017. He was fired on 15 April 2018.
