Rathan-Mayes made his NBA debut on the same day, contributed eight points, five assists, two rebounds and two steals in 25 minutes for the Grizzlies in a 98–100 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Rathan-Mayes’ contract expired on March 14, 2018.
On December 3, 2019, the Agua Caliente Clippers announced that they had acquired Rathan-Mayes from the Texas Legends for the returning rights to Demarcus Holland and a 3rd round draft pick in the 2020 NBA G League Draft.
On July 28th, 2018, Rathan-Mayes signed a one-year contract in the Greek Basket League with AEK Athens of the Greek Basket League. On October 24, 2018 Rathan Mayes scored 24 points and shot 8-of-15 from the field and also had six assists, helping AEK to a victory of 93-86 against Brose Bamberg. On the 29th of December, 2018 Rathan-Mayes and the Greek club agreed to end their agreement.
