Roman Talan is one of the most popular and richest Figure Skater who was born on February 4, 1988 in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. Roman Serhiyovych Talan, Ukrainian: Roman Sergiiovich Talan; born 4 February 1988 in Ukraine) is a pair skater from Ukraine. He is the 2009 Ukrainian National Champion and represented Ukraine at 2010 Winter Olympics. From 2013 to 2014, he competed alongside Elizaveta Uzmantseva.

Talan joined forces with Elizaveta Uzmantseva in February 2013. He had previously coached her. Usmantseva/Talan were introduced at the 2013 Coupe du Printemps, late in the 2012-13 season. They finished eighth at 2013 Nebelhorn Trophy in September 2013. This was the last qualifying event for 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. The Ukraine was awarded a place in the Olympic pairs’ competition, but it was given to Julia Lavrentieva / Yuri Rudyk. To treat Usmantseva’s spinal disc herniation, they declined a test-skate for the 2014 World Championships.

Usmantseva/Talan were assigned to replace Berton/Hotarek at the 2014 Skate America but later withdrew as well. They ended their partnership in December 2014.

Roman Talan was born at Kursk Oblast in Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. He married Kateryna Costko in 2011. Their daughter, also named Kateryna was born 25 February 2012.
