He is an ex- American football fullback in National Football League. He played for the San Diego Chargers (Chicago Bears), Dallas Cowboys (Dallas Cowboys) and the Chicago Bears (Chicago Bears). Before he began his professional football career, Chancey was drafted in sixth round of 1992 MLB Draft. He also spent four years playing minor-league baseball.

He was signed by Chicago Bears on July 26, 1998. He played in all 16 games, with just one start (the season opener). He rushed the ball 29 times, for 122 yards, and scored two touchdowns. He also caught 11 passes, gaining 102 yards and fumbling twice. He also returned kickoffs of 18 yards. The Bears waived him on September 5, 1999.

On October 5, 1999, he was signed by the Dallas Cowboys to be the third-string running back. He appeared in three games, rushing the ball 14 times for 57 yards against the Green Bay Packers.

On February 15, 2000, he was signed to an offer sheet by the San Diego Chargers. That season, he appeared in four games, starting three. He rushed the ball 42 times for 141 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught one pass for six yards. He also attempted his only pass as a professional. He was cut on February 28, 2001.

He tried out in Tampa Bay, Florida with a Scout for the BC Lions of Canada Football League. Chancey signed with the San Diego Chargers on August 26,

1997. He had not played college football since high school and was not a fullback. However, he ran a 4.58 40 yard dash at Antowain Smith’s pro day. He was promoted to fullback by the Chargers’ practice team on November 4. He was a special team player and appeared in six games.

Chancey chose to play pro baseball over attending college. The Baltimore Orioles selected Chancey in the 6th round 1992 MLB Draft.
