Ricky Nattiel is one of the most popular and richest American Football Player who was born on January 25, 1966 in Gainesville, Georgia, United States. Nattiel was a Gainesville, Florida native in 1966. Nattiel attended Newberry High School, Newberry, Florida. He was the quarterback of the Newberry Panthers high-school football team. Nattiel was the quarterback for the Panthers during his senior season 1982. They won a 9-1 regular-season and two state playoff wins, before losing in the Florida Class 2A semifinals. Nattiel was also a basketball and track player for the Panthers and was an all-county champion in both.

Nattiel was the 27th overall pick in the 1987 NFL Draft. He played in six NFL seasons, including eight playoff and two Super Bowls. He had 31 receptions and 630 yards in his rookie season. This was a record for the franchise, which is 20.3 yards per catch. He increased his number of receptions to 46 and was the Broncos primary punt returninger for 972 all-purpose yards. After that, his numbers declined. He caught a touchdown pass from John Elway, a quarterback of the Broncos, that was 56 yards long. This was his first play from scrimmage in Super Bowl XXII. Nattiel, Vance Johnson and Mark Jackson, all Broncos wide receivers, were teammates from 1987 to 1992. They were affectionately called “The Three Amigos.” His six-year NFL career ended with 121 receptions, 1,972 yards, and eight touchdowns.

Nattiel was on the SEC Academic Honor Roll for 1984 and 1986. In 1987, he graduated from the University of Florida as a bachelor’s student in public health. He was also inducted into The University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998 as a “Gator Great”. The Sun’s sports editors ranked him the No. 46 All-time Greatest Gator in the First 100 Years of Florida Football.

Ricky Rennard Nattiel, born January 25, 1966, is an American ex-professional and college football player. Nicknamed “Ricky the Rocket”, he was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL), for six seasons between the 1980s to 1990s. Nattiel was a college football player at the University of Florida. He then played professionally for Denver Broncos of NFL.

Nattiel was awarded an athletic scholarship to the University of Florida, Gainesville. He was a wide receiver for coach Charley Pell’s Florida Gators football team from 1983 to 1986. He was a high school quarterback but he was also recruited to be a defensive back or wide receiver. However, the coaches made the decision because of his freshman year in 1983. Nattiel was the senior Gators receiver Dwayne Dixon’s replacement. He established himself as a star receiver and was a major target of Kerwin Bell during the 1985 season. Nattiel was a key target of Gators quarterback Kerwin Bell during the 1984 and 1985 seasons, when the Gators posted identical 9-1-1 overall win-loss records and led the Southeastern Conference (SEC) with best-in-the-conference records of 5-0-1 and 5-1. He is remembered for his ninety-six yard touchdown run by Bell in the Gators’ 27–0 win over the Georgia Bulldogs in 1984. This contributed to his nickname, “Ricky the Rocket.” Nattiel ended his college career with 117 receptions, 2,086 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also had 589 yards of punt returns. He was a team captain and a first-team All-SEC selection. In 1986, he was also a second-team All-American. In 1986, Nattiel received the Gators Fergie Ferguson Award for senior who displayed the most “outstanding leadership and courage.”

Nattiel, who is Baptist, was formerly the junior varsity coach and wide receivers coach of the Trinity Catholic High School Celtics football team in Ocala, Florida. When former Celtics head coach Kerwin Bell resigned in 2007, Nattiel became the head coach of the Celtics for a single season, leading them to a 7–5 record and a berth in the Florida State 2B regional playoffs.
