Rick Stone is one of the most popular and richest Coach who was born on February 14, 1967 in Australia. Stone was a South Sydney Rabbitohs player, and appeared in a few first-grade games during the 1989 Winfield Cup premiership. Stone was a player for the Nambucca Heads Roosters, and later he was their captain. They won two premierships in Group 2 Rugby League in 1992 and 1993.
Stone was named as the Knights’ coach on 11 August 2014. This announcement came after Wayne Bennett decided to leave for the Brisbane Broncos. Stone will be starting a 2-year contract in 2015. Stone announced a 19-man Fiji squad for the Inaugural Hayne/Mannah Cup match against Lebanon on 18 October 2014. Stone would coach Fiji for the last time, as he was now head coach of the Newcastle Knights. In July 2015, he was fired from his position as Newcastle’s head coaching.
On 8 November 2019, it was announced that Stone had signed a two-year contract with Queensland Cup side Burleigh Bears, starting 2020, thus marking his return to the club where he had coached between 1995 and 2005, winning two premierships.
Stone signed a new four-year contract with the Knights to become assistant coach to Bennett. Bennett was the Knights’ supercoach for the next four seasons, starting in 2012. Stone took over as Bennett’s coach. Stone was the coach of Fiji during their 2013 Rugby League World Cup campaign.

Stone joined Queensland Cup side Burleigh in 1994. He coached the team for 13 seasons and won three premierships. In a warm-up match against the 1999 Tri- nations series, Stone coached the club to a loss of 6-10 against Great Britain.
Stone began at Newcastle as an assistant coach to Michael Hagan. Stone was the fourth assistant coach to Michael Hagan during the 2009 NRL season. Brian Smith, the head coach of the Newcastle Knights, resigned. Stone was then appointed as assistant coach to Smith and was made coach for the rest of the season. His first game as the Knights’ head coach was a victory against the eventual grand finalist Melbourne Storm.
In July 2016, Stone was named as the new head coach of Super League club Huddersfield Giants. After a poor start to the 2018 Super League Season, Stone left his position as Coach.
