Montgomery was invited to join the USA Basketball Women’s National Team Training Camp in the fall 2009. These participants usually select the team that will play in the 2010 FIBA World Championship or the 2012 Olympics.

During the 2009–10 collegiate basketball season, Montgomery occasionally worked as a color commentator for women’s college games broadcast on the ESPN family of networks.
