Peter Neururer (born 26 April 1955) is a German association football manager who is known for his coaching experience at a variety in Bundesliga clubs. Neururer is currently the Sports Director of Regionalliga West club SG Wattenscheid 09.
Neururer became a part of 1. FC Saarbrucken on 1 July 1991. At 1. FC Saarbrucken, Neururer enjoyed his biggest success to date since the club was crowned league champions and elevated to the top division. Their experience in the Bundesliga did not prove to be long, however the team was relegated to bottom in their very first season at the top level. This also meant the end of Neururer. Neururer quit the club on June 30, 1993. The record he had was that included 25 draws, 21 victories as well as 22 defeats.
Neururer’s next post was at second flight Hannover 96. Neururer took over on 7 November 1994. The club was at the bottom of the table. Neururer stabilised the team in his six months there and maintained their league status. Neururer left the club on 30 May 1995. He finished with a record of seven wins, seven draws, and six losses.

He finished with a record of 25 wins, eight draws, and 27 losses.
Neururer was then offered the position of manager at this stage with Alemannia Aachen in January 1988. After securing the club in 6th place with a win in 10 of 17 games in the 1987-88 season , and then another successful season in the following year the club approached him to Schalke 04, who were experiencing a tough season following being relegated. Neururer was released from Schalke 04 on April 10, 1989. The final game he played was a loss of 1-0 in a match against SV Darmstadt 98 on 7 April 1989. Alemannia Aachen were in seventh place at the time he left the club. The final score was with 23 points, 9 draws as well as 13 defeats.

Neururer played a short life in the lower divisions prior to transitioning into coaching in the lower leagues at TuS Haltern and SG Weitmar. He made his way to the top leagues as the assistant manager of Horst Hrubesch when he was 2. Bundesliga club Rot Weiss Essen in the season 1986-87, and later, he was in charge of the club as sole boss in late 1987. Neururer had two wins in his nine games as manager.
Neururer was appointed director of FC Schalke 04 on 11 April 1989. Neururer managed his Ruhr club to the 5th position in 1989-90 , and began the next season with a bang and the club finishing second in the first three months. However, this wasn’t enough to please the club’s president, who fired the player in November of 1990. Neururer’s record was that included 16 draws, 33 victories as well as 17 defeats. In June 2007 Neururer was the subject of controversy after he claimed that doping was a problem in German football during the 1990s. He specifically referenced his stint as manager at FC Schalke 04 in 1989-90 in his claim, but this was denied by the club itself.
Neururer did not have to wait too long for another opportunity as Bundesliga side Hertha BSC came calling after they had fired Pál Csernai. Neururer immediately took over in March 1991. The club were sat bottom the table at this point and Neururer was unable to stop the rot, as the team failed to win a single game in his 14 in charge and were duly relegated. Unsurprisingly, Neururer left Hertha BSC at this point in May 1991. He finished with a record of no wins, two draws, and 10 losses.

In November 2005 he was given another shot at the top level, as Hannover took him on for a second spell after sacking Ewald Lienen. He guided to team to a comfortable 12th-place finish at the end of the 2005–06 season but a disastrous start to the 2006–07 season – conceding 11 goals in 3 defeats. Neururer resigned on 30 August 2006. He finished with a record of five wins, 11 draws, and 10 losses.
