Peter Cassilles is an Australian former player in the rugby league which played between the years 1970 and the 1980s. He played all of his time with Canterbury-Bankstown within the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competition.
Following the loss in the grand final, Cassilles suffered a number of injuries that limited his playing time at Canterbury. Cassilles was not able to play in the premiership match of the 1980 season victory over Eastern Suburbs due to injury. The club’s first premiership in over 38 years. Cassilles quit at the end that season. In all, Cassilles played an 184-game season for Canterbury across all levels.
in 1979 Canterbury was able to make it into an 1979 NSWRL grand final, which they lost to St George. Cassilles took part in the match during the game. St George raced out to an advantage of 17-2 at half-time, only to take the lead 17-13 following a comeback in the second half by Canterbury.

Cassilles started his two seasons in reserve grade prior to making his debut in grade for the club in the match against Western Suburbs in 1974. In 1975, he played in a few match for Canterbury and played in the club’s semi-final loss against Parramatta.
As of 1977, Cassilles made himself an established first grader at Canterbury with 16 appearances. In 1978, Cassilles played 11 appearances, but was not able to go from the finals due to an injury. The team would go in losing a second time to arch rivals during the opening round of finals.
Cassilles later became a life member of the Canterbury club and was one of the players nominated for the Berries to Bulldogs 70 Year Team of Champions. In 2008, Cassilles was appointed interim CEO at Canterbury after the resignation of Malcolm Noad.
