Throughout his time with the Saints, he has been an important figure in the planning and preparation of the team’s offensive attack, thats been ranked first in the National Football League in yardage in six seasons and in the top nine each campaign of his time as offensive coordinator. During this period of Carmichael’s tenure on the New Orleans coaching staff, the club’s streak of finishing in the top 10 in offense is the third-longest since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.
