After two successful seasons in Bristol Agostino’s burgeoning fame was noticed by German Bundesliga side 1860 Munich. Agostino quit to Europe in 1992, and departed to Switzerland and signed as a player with Young Boys. Agostino was there in Bern for two years, which helped him to get used to European life and the game. In Switzerland where he learned to speak German that would later assist in his transition to Germany after 1997. After that, he was able to have a brief period at Yverdon prior to making his switch to England. Agostino was signed by Bristol City in 1995 and it was during the second season of his stay with Bristol City that he began scoring more often and scored sixteen goals during the Second Division (the third tier of English club football).

Paul Agostino (born 9 June 1975) is an Australian former professional footballer who was striker. He played most of his professional football outside of Australia and was most notable playing for 1860 Munich in Germany for 10 years. The team played for 18 matches in Australia and won his first OFC Nations Cup of the year 2000.
In Adelaide, Australia, Agostino began his football career at Salisbury United. He joined the national scene in the year 1991 during his debut season as a senior player with West Adelaide SC in the NSL. It was during this period the year that “Aga” was picked in the Australian World Youth Championships squad that included players like Paul Okon and Mark Bosnich in one of Australia’s ‘Golden Generations that made it to the semi-finals in that tournament.
It was announced in February 2007 that A-League team Adelaide United had agreed on a two-year contract with Agostino which saw the striker return to his home city for the first time in 15 years. It was announced on 30 December 2008 that Agostino would retire at the end of the 2008–09 season.
