Passion Richardson is one of the most popular and richest Sprinter who was born on January 25, 1975 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, United States. Passion J. Richardson (born on 25 January 1975) is an American former track and field player who competed in sprinting events.

The 2000 USA Indoor Championships she took second place in the 60-meter race and set a personal record. She finished eighth at the United States Olympic Trials – the result earned her the distinction to be the alternative heat runners of the United States at the 2000 Summer Olympics. In the 2000 Sydney Olympics she sprinted the team in the semi-final and heat stages together with Chryste Gaines Torri Edwards, and Nanceen Perry. Perry was later substituted to Marion Jones in the final. Jones later admitted to using performance- enhancing drugs during the games. Richardson along with the other athletes filed an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport to challenge their disqualification and to keep their medals. In defense of her decision she stated during an interview on The Early Show: “I competed fairly. I should not have to suffer the consequences for someone else’s bad decisions and choices…I don’t believe that I should have to give back my medal…you don’t know what was going on in the other teams, so how do you really rectify that situation? There’s really no positive outcome in either way that it goes.”

She retired from the sport in 2001 and returned to her alma mater, the University of Kentucky, as a track coach.

In addition to her Olympic performance, she was also the relay gold medalist at the 1997 Summer Universiade and silver medalist at the 1999 Pan American Games. In her own way she finished as a 100-m sprint medalist in the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 1999 and 2000. Her most impressive national performance was second place in the 60-meter race during the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships in 2000.
