Greg Trooper is one of the most popular and richest Singer who was born on January 13, 1956 in New Jersey, United States. Greg Trooper (January 13, 1956 – – January 15 2017, 2017.) was an American musician and singer his songs have been recorded by a variety of artists among them Steve Earle, Billy Bragg as well as Vince Gill.

2002 was the year that Trooper released his debut live album In 2002, Trooper released his first live album A House and a Hard Place Live from Pine Hill Farm with Eric “Roscoe” Ambel at the control. The band moved to the prestigious Sugar Hill Records label in 2003 and released Floating and was followed by Dan Penn’s Make It Through This World in 2005. Back Shop Live, another live recording, debuted in 2006.

In August 2013, Trooper released his album Incident on Willow Street, also on 52 Shakes Records. According to Trooper, “In these songs, there seemed to be characters that were trying to break away from a bad situation into a better situation or trying to grow out of a stale and stagnant life into a richer life.”

Trooper died of pancreatic cancer on January 15, 2017, two days after his 61st birthday.

In the early 1990s Trooper was introduced to the New Jerseyite E Street Band bassist Garry Tallent who, just like Trooper moved to Nashville. Tallent was the producer on Trooper’s album in 1996 Noises in the Hallway and released it through the D’Ville Record Group label. Popular Demons followed in 1998 and was released on Koch Records and produced by Buddy Miller. Following the release of that album Trooper joined Nashville independent label Eminent Records, which released Straight Down Rain in 2001.

Trooper was born in Neptune Township, New Jersey and was raised in the nearby Little Silver. In the early 1970s Trooper was a frequent visitor to the folk clubs in Greenwich Village taking in the growing blues and singer/songwriter scene. The year 1976 saw him relocated from Austin, Texas, and after that moved to Lawrence, Kansas, where was accepted into the University of Kansas and continued to improve his guitar playing as well as singing and songwriting abilities.

Trooper relocated from the Midwest to New York City for the 1980s and into the 1990s. He started the Greg Trooper Band, which included Larry Campbell on guitar, Greg Shirley on bass, and Walter Thomson on drums. In the course of this time, he made his debut two recordings We Won’t dance on Wild Twin Records in 1986 and critically well-reviewed Everywhere composed by Stewart Lerman. He also had a meeting with songwriter and publisher Earl Shuman, who secured Trooper’s debut publishing deal in the form of CBS Songs. Trooper’s albums caught the eye from Steve Earle, who recorded Trooper’s “Little Sister”, and Vince Gill, who covered the title track from Trooper’s “We Won’t Dance” on his 1989 album “When I Call Your Name”.

In 2008, Trooper moved back to New York City and in 2009 put out the previously unreleased 1995 recording The Williamsburg Affair. In 2011 he released Upside-Down Town on 52 Shakes Records.
