Naoko Hayashiba, also known as Lin Xie Zhi Zi, Hayashiba Naoko (born January 24, 1968), is a Japanese writer, manga author, and manga artist from Fukuoka. After a long and successful career as a professional shogi player, she quit in 1995 due to sex scandals with Makoto Nakahara. She has been focusing on TV and writing since then. Tondemo Police, and Kiss Dakeja Iya are her novels. She also wrote the manga Shion no O. After a 15-year hiatus, she returned in 2010 to shogi.
From 1989 to 1993, she held the record for the highest annual winning rate at 0.852 (23 wins from 27), and also the record for the longest winning streak of 17 games consecutively in 1982. It was broken by Hiroe Nakai (19 games) in 2010 and Kanasatomi (21 games) in 2015.

Hayashiba defeated professional shogi player Kinji Shiihashi [ja] in a 1991 Ginga Tournament [ja] game using the rare Sleeve Rook opening as Black, which made her the first female professional to defeat a male in a tournament game. Hayashiba’s victory, however, is considered to be an “unofficial” because the Ginga Tournament did not become an official tournament until 2000.
