Murriel Page was born in Louin in Mississippi in 1975. She attended Bay Springs High School, Bay Springs, Mississippi where she led her Bay Springs basketball team to two state titles.

Page was awarded an athletic scholarship to the University of Florida in Gainesville. She played for Carol Ross’s Florida Gators women’s basketball team. Page finished her Gators career ranked second in points (1.915), rebound (1.251), field goal percentage (0.550) and free throws (334). In 1998, Page graduated from the University of Florida and received her bachelor’s degree. She was then inducted into the University of Florida Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009 as a “Gator great”.

The Washington Mystics selected Page third in the 1998 WNBA Draft. She played there for eight seasons. Page and Temeka Johnson were traded to the Los Angeles Sparks in March 2006 for Nikki Teasley. She played with Mallorca in Spain during the 2008-2009 WNBA offseason. She also played in Spain with San Jose during the 2007-08 offseason.

LaMurriel Page, born September 18, 1975, is an American former professional and college basketball player. She was a forward and centre in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), for 11 seasons. Page was drafted in round one of the 1998 WNBA Draft after playing college basketball at the University of Florida. Page played professional basketball for the Washington Mystics as well as the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA. She is currently the assistant women’s basketball coaches at Central Michigan University.

Page was a member the 1997 Jones Cup Team, which won the silver medal at Taipei. Many of the games were close. The USA team won four games by six or less points, including an overtime match against Japan. Although the USA won the gold medal match against South Korea, it lost 76 to 71 to take home the silver medal. Page averaged 14.7 points per match and was the top scorer for the team.

Following her retirement from professional basketball, Page become an assistant coach for the Florida Gators women’s basketball team under head coach Amanda Butler for the 2010–11 season.
