Michael Thomas Atkinson, born 2 December 1994, is a footballer who plays as a defender and midfielder for National League South club Oxford City or the Belize national soccer team.
Atkinson, who is eligible to represent Belize at international levels through his mother, was first called up for the Belize national team after being selected in the squad for the 2017 Copa Centroamericana. On 15 January 2017, Atkinson made his debut in the 59th minute as a substitute for Costa Rica. Two days later, he made his debut in Belize’s 3-1 loss against El Salvador. He was substituted on 47 minute. After finishing at the bottom of the standings, Atkinson made two appearances in 2017 Copa Centroamericana.
Before joining York City’s youth program, he played for York Schoolboys. He joined Northern Premier League Division One North club Farsley in March 2013. His debut was made on March 30th when he started a 2-1 away victory over Ramsbottom United. He made two appearances during the loan.

Atkinson signed permanently with Scarborough Athletic, Northern Premier League Division One South on 19/12/2013 after York released him. Atkinson was a Royal Air Force (RAF) physical training instructor. He started the joining process in 2014 and has been a football player for the RAF.
In June 2013, Atkinson signed a professional one-year contract with York. Atkinson’s first and only involvement in the first team was as a substitute in a 0-0 draw at Hartlepool United on 17 august 2013. On a one-month loan, he joined Northallerton Town, a Northern League Division Two club in September 2013. He only made one appearance. On 28 September 2013, he was defeated by Chester-le-Stret Town 4-2 at home. York manager Nigel Worthington wanted him to be loaned to a club in the higher division.
Atkinson signed for National League South club Oxford City in July 2018 after a successful trial.
