Michiyo Heike (Ping Jia michiyo, Heike Michiyo), (born Ping Jia Chong Dai on April 6, 1979)) is a Japanese singer-songwriter, born in Nabari and raised in Mie. In the late 1990s, she was first known for her appearance on Japanese talent show Asayan. She became the first member of “Hello! Project”. Heike is currently known as the simply Michiyo.
Michiyo’s 7th single, “One-room Natsu no Koi Monogatari”, was released on May 17, 2000. This was Michiyo’s first song, and it reached number 26 on Oricon Singles Chart. “Ai no chikara”, her eighth single, was released August 9, 2000. Tsunku again produced the song, which reached number 38 on Oricon Singles Chart. Heike’s second studio album, For Ourself–Single History — was released September 13, 2000. It reached number 23 on Oricon Singles Chart. Heike was a member of the shuffle group Kiiro in 2000.
Heike released her 9th single “Kekkyoku Bye Bye Bye” on February 7, 2001, peaking at number 45 on the Oricon Singles Chart. She then signed a new recording contract with zetima label after her recording contract with WEA Japan was terminated. Her 10th single “Propose” was released on November 7, 2001, peaking at number 31 on the Oricon Singles Chart. In 2001, she was part of 7-nin Matsuri.
In 2004, she changed her stage name to Michyo (みちよ ) and began a career as an indies songwriter. Her first indie album, titled Jecica, was entirely self- written and was released on March 3, 2004.

Heike’s debut single, “Get”, was composed by Hatake and lyrics by Tsunku. It was released by the WEA Japan label, November 5, 1997. “Get”, her top-charting single, reached number 24 on Oricon Singles Charts, and charted for six weeks. Michiyo released “Dakedo aishi Sugite”, Michiyo’s fourth single off the joint OST album Morning Cop, “Daite hold on Me!” On October 25, 1998, it reached number 95 on Oricon Singles Chart.
“Murasaki shikibu”, released on June 5, 2001, was her last single as a Hello! Project member, peaking at number 39 on the Oricon Singles Chart. In July 2002, she was a member of Sexy 8. Since Heike’s management contract with Up Front Group was terminated, she “graduated from” Hello! Project in November 2002, five years after her debut.
