“La Chica de San Juan”, her 2003 album Rumba’s SalsaSoul Delight, became the title song. The album featured a mix of soul and tropical rhythms and used a Spanglish language that was developed with the influx Latinos to America. Almodovar and Tito were the sons of Tito Puente (the well-known latin music expert “Rey del Timbal”), who had met in 2001 when she was performing at a Nashville club with her Orchestra. He had also sat in on her band. Tito was chosen to be paired with Almodovar on numerous shows after he moved to Miami. Tito asked Almodovar for the role of a female singer when he was searching for a singer to record “Mi Socio”, which is a remake from the 1965 song in “Tito Puente Swings-The Exciting Lupe Sings”. He had an arrangement made by his father. Almodovar and Tito have been a highly sought-after duo since then, touring the globe performing her father’s songs as well as their own.
