Raymo is an American Geophysical Union fellow and the American Association for the Advancement of Science fellow. She was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2016. Raymo has been awarded numerous prizes for her scientific research, including the Wollaston medal in 2014. This is the highest honor of the Geological Society of London. She was awarded the Milutin Milankovic medal at the European Geosciences Union annual meeting in 2014 for her work using geochemistry, geology, and geophysics to solve the big problems of paleoclimatology. She was presented with the American Geophysical Union’s Maurice Ewing Medal in 2019.

Raymo was awarded many other honors and awards, including the Wollaston medal for geology in 2014. She became the first woman to receive the Wollaston Medal. It had been given for 183 years. Her nomination described her as “.. one the foremost and most influential figures of the past 30 years.”
