Hagen Pfundner (born 27 October 1960 in Pforzheim, Germany) is a German pharmacist and industrial manager, and is a member of the Board of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie (BDI), the Foundation of German Industries) and the Verband Forschender Arzneimittelhersteller (VFA, German Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies), as well as being an honorary professor of Freiburg University (Universitat Freiburg im Breisgau) and chairman of the University Council of the DHBW Lorrach (Baden- Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Loerrach).
Minister Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut awarded Herr Pfundner the Baden-Wuerttemberg Business Medal in 2016.
Herr Pfundner was elected to the VFA board in 2008 and served as its chairman from 2011 through 2017. He has been a member of IMU (Institute of Marketing- Oriented Business Leadership) since 2011. He is also a board member of BDI, and chair of the BDI Committee for Industrial Health Economy.

After graduating from Freiburg University in pharmacy and passing the 1989 pharmaceutical exams, Herr Pfunder worked as a scientist assistant at Marburg and Kiel Universities. He was awarded a doctor of rer. nat. degree with a dissertation entitled “The Involvement of Cytochrome P450 the Biotransformation of Amidines: Investigation with Purified Enzymes & Antibodies” at University of Kiel.
Pfunder was a member of Hoffmann-La Roche AG Germany’s marketing and product management department (1992-1995). He then took over international responsibility for the treatment area in Switzerland for inflammation and bone diseases, and later marketing and production in Canada (1998-2001). After becoming Global Leader in Virolology at the Head Office, Basle, Switzerland (1998-2001), he was appointed as the Swedish management head. He has been the managing director of Roche Germany Holding GmbH and Head of Roche Pharma AG Germany since 2001.
