Savoie was elected the single and pair skating technical committee representative of the International Skating Union in July 2006. He served a four year term.

Savoie was the alternate for the 2002 Olympic team. He had to have knee surgery in 2004 due to parallel tendonitis. Savoie won the bronze medal at the 2006 U.S. Championships and was eligible to compete in the 2006 Winter Olympics. He was ranked seventh overall.

He also served as secretary for the LAMBDA (LGBT Law Students Association). Savoie graduated in 2009 and worked as an associate at Choate Hall & Stewart before he left in 2014 to become a coach for The Skating Club in Boston. Curran Oi was one of his students.
