Mato Neretljak (born 3 June 1979) is a Croatian professional manager of football also a player from the past. He is currently assistant manager for the Croatia national team for under-20s.

Following his participation in the UEFA Euro 2004 finals, He only participated in 4 international friendly matches for Croatia which included the two matches they played at the 2006 Carlsberg Cup in Hong Kong. He earned a total of 10-international caps with Croatia’s national team, nine of them were in friendly matches.

In 2009, he moved to Japanese club Omiya Ardija. On 23 May 2012, he signed for HNK Rijeka on a two-year-long contract deal. In 2014, he announced his retirement.

19 days after leaving Metalleghe, Neretljak came back to and became the new manager of Orašje once again. In that First League FBiH season, Orašje finished in the 5th place. After the last game of the season in which Orašje beat NK Travnik 3–2, Neretljak stuck to his word and left the club after the end of the season.

His first international appearance in competitive competition for Croatia was on the 15th of November 2003 during the UEFA Euro 2004 qualifying play-offs against Slovenia and Slovenia, in which he played for the full 90 minutes in the opening match in Zagreb that ended in an 1-1 draw. On the 18th of February, 2004 the striker scored his first goals for the international team of Croatia during their 2-1 loss at the hands of Germany during the game in Split. He also was included in the Croatian squad for the UEFA Euro 2004 finals in Portugal but was not a part of any of the three group games before they were eliminated from the tournament.

Neretljak was awarded eight national caps with the Croatian national team of under-21s between 2000 and 2001. When he was still playing with the national under-21 team, he made his debut as an international player in the national team of Croatia during a friendly game against Greece on April 25, 2001 in Varazdin in which Neretljak was an alternative to Boris Zivkovic in the 88th minute.

Then he transferred to HNK Hajduk Split and spent three seasons with the club before leaving it for South Korean club Suwon Samsung Bluewings in 2005.
