Mark Steenhuis (born December 3 of 1980) is a Canadian professional player of lacrosse who is a member of the Buffalo Bandits in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and before that, the Hamilton Nationals of Major League Lacrosse (MLL).
Steenhuis started his career as a senior playing for his team, the St. Catharines Athletics of Major Series Lacrosse. In his debut season the team scored the score of 50 and 20 points and was awarded his “Gene Dopp Memorial Trophy” for Rookie of Year along with Mike Miron. The following season Steenhuis recorded 54 points over 14 games and was named with the “Jim Murphy Trophy” for league’s most Valuable Player. In 2004 Steenhuis was able to score the highest score of his career, 91 points in only 17 games, and averaged 5.3 scores per match. Steenhuis was part of St. Regis Indians in 2008 and 2009. St. Regis Indians in 2008 and 2009, before the team disbanded. In 2010 Steenhuis was picked first overall by Peterborough Lakers in the St. Regis dispersal draft.

Steenhuis began his NLL debut back in the year 2002, playing for his team, the Columbus Landsharks. Following the 2002 season Steenhuis was traded to the Buffalo Bandits for goalie Ken Montour. When he arrived the team was in Buffalo, Steenhuis quickly became popular with fans because of his enthusiasm for the game with his goal-scoring skills, athleticism, but also due to his hairstyle and orange sneakers.

Born from St. Catharines, Ontario Steenhuis graduated from Governor Simcoe Secondary School in 1998. He didn’t start playing lacrosse until 17 years old. It was at this point that his introduction to the sport by his friend and future Buffalo Bandits teammate, Billy Dee Smith.
After a remarkable debut season playing for the Spartan Warriors in 1999, Steenhuis had two years of success of Jr.A lacrosse with St. Catharines Athletics, and was a key player in leading the team to winning the Minto Cup national championship in 2001.
Steenhuis was named MVP of the 2004, 2007 and 2009 National Lacrosse League All-Star Games, becoming the first player in NLL history to be named MVP of multiple All-Star Games. He scored six times in 2004 and 2007 and seven times in 2009. In 2008, Steenhuis was named the NLL Transition Player of the Year. and the NLL Championship Game MVP.
