After Matte broke her elbow in autumn 2017, the pair had to miss several weeks of training. Matte/Ferland took home the title of junior pairs at the 2018 Canadian Championships in January. They were ranked 10th in the short skate, 7th in free skating, and 9th overall at this year’s World Junior Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. The pair was coached by Bruno Marcotte and Richard Gauthier in Montreal.
Competing at two Challenger events to begin the season, Matte/Ferland were eight at the 2019 CS U.S. Classic and seventh at the 2019 CS Warsaw Cup. They placed fifth at the 2020 Canadian Championships.
In September 2016, Matte/Ferland were the first to make their ISU Junior Grand Prix debut. They were awarded the 2017 World Junior Championships assignment in Taipei after they won the junior silver medal at 2017 Canadian Championships. They placed 7th in short program, 12th for free skate and 9th overall in Taiwan at the competition. Martine Simard, a Quebec coach, coached them until the end. They moved to Montreal in May 2017.

Lori-Ann Matte, born June 30, 1999, is a Canadian pair skimmer. She is the 2018 Canadian junior champion, along with her skating partner, Thierry Frland. They finished in the top ten at the two World Junior Championships 2017 and 2018.
Matte started skating in 2004. Around 2010, she teamed up to Thierry Ferland. They won the novice bronze medal at 2015 Canadian Championships as well as the novice silver medal during the 2015 Canada Winter Games. They placed 6th at 2016 Canadian Championships as a junior team.
