On October 11, 2014, he scored his first NHL goal against Viktor Fasth (Edmonton Oilers). Vey was placed by the Canucks on waivers on October 5, 2015. The following day, he cleared waivers and was assigned to Utica Comets in the American Hockey League (AHL).

He played out the remainder of the season with the Lions, helping retain the Swiss championship.
