Mafra was slated as a replacement on short notice in the fight against Rick Story on July 16 on UFC Fight Night 45, as a replacement for injury-stricken John Howard. Story defeated Mafra by submission in the second round.
Mafra faced Cain Carrizosa on March 21, 2015 at UFC Fight Night 62. Mafra won the fight by unanimous decision.

Mafra then moved to Balneario Camboriu, and started his pro debut at the Welterweight division in the early part of 2011. He had the record of 6-0 when he competed on regional shows in his home country of Brazil before he auditioned in The Ultimate Fighter.
