Latisha Chan is one of the most popular and richest Tennis Player who was born on August 17, 1989 in Taipei, Taiwan. As a junior, Chan 2003 took part in her first professional tour event in Taiwan. Chan reached the semifinals in singles, and in the quarterfinals of doubles. Her professional career began in 2004. At the end in the calendar year she held the title of singles champion of three events worth $10,000, which included Colombo, Jakarta, and Taipei. She also took home three doubles titles in Jakarta, Haibara, and Mount Gambier. The 2005 season was started well by winning an event worth $25,000 in Taipei. She also took home the $50,000 prize in Fukuoka. The following year, she was selected to play in an entry into the US Open, but failed to take on Serena Williams in the first round. In order to establish herself on the WTA Tour level, Chan did not play in the WTA Tour tournaments at the beginning of 2007. She was in the main draw for the Australian Open, at Pattaya, Bangalore, and Indian Wells however she was unable to progress beyond into the second round. In Miami she made it to the second round after beating Nuria Llagostera Vives. She then went on to losing to the top player Maria Sharapova.
In the 2011 Australian Open, she reached the final of mixed doubles with Paul Hanley, their first Grand Slam final. Along the way, they defeated the defending champions, and fourth-seeded, Cara Black and Leander Paes, in two set-tiebreakers. However, this team lost the final to second seeds Daniel Nestor and Katarina Srebotnik in three sets.
Chan reached the semifinals of 2012 Mercury Insurance Open, losing to Marion Bartoli 6–1, 3–6, 3–6.
In addition to her singles successes, Chan also had success with doubles in 2007. With a wildcard entry, Chan and Chuang reached the finals of the Australian Open, which was Chan’s first Grand Slam doubles event. To reach in the semi-finals, they beat the 2006 US Open doubles finalists Dinara Safina and Katarina Srebotnik as well as the 2006 Australian Open and Wimbledon champions Yan Zi and Zheng Jie. In February the Chans took part in two additional tournaments. They made it to the final at each of Pattaya and Bangalore and took home the doubles title at the second event.

Chan began competing on Junior circuits in 2002. She was in the semifinals of her debut ITF Junior event. With strong performances both in challenger and junior events, her junior ranking was No. 2 on the 24th of May 2004. But her most notable junior triumph came during in 2004 at the Australian Open Junior Championships, in which she was paired with Sun Sheng-nan in winning the doubles prize. The streak of their finals was ended in Miami in the semifinals, where they fell against Raymond Stosur and Raymond Stosur in the final.
In the 2010 US Open, Chan beat two former WTA top-50s – Anne Keothavong and Tamira Paszek – to make her first round of 32 in a Grand Slam tournament, her previous best results had been the round of 64 at the 2008 US Open, 2009 Australian Open, and 2010 Wimbledon Championships. In the third round, she lost 1–6, 0–6 to top seed and world No. 2 Caroline Wozniacki.
