Hall was admitted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame as an “Honor Swimmer” in 1979. Hall is also a part of both the Puget Sound University Athletic Hall of Fame as well as the Washington State Sports Hall of Fame.
Following the Olympics She enrolled at after the Olympics at University of Puget Sound and continued to swim for the Tacoma Swim Club with Dick Hannula. In the 1970 World University Games in Turin, Italy, she won three gold medals in the 100-meter backstroke as well as the freestyle 4×100 meters and 4×100-meter Medley relays. She resigned from swimming competition in the year 1970.

Hall was raised in Tacoma, Washington, and was a student at Woodrow Wilson High School in Tacoma. She was a member of Tacoma Swim Club. Tacoma Swim Club with coach Dick Hannula. Hall began her career internationally at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg and won the Silver medal at the 100-meter backstroke. She was a step ahead of Canadian Gold medalist Elaine Tanner. In December of 1967 Hall was the very first female to complete 100 yards backstroke in less than one minute.
When she was 17 years old she was awarded two gold medals as well as bronze at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. Her first gold medal when she was an athlete on the winning U.S. team in women’s 4×100-meter Medley relay. The backstroke section that started the relay was her favorite. of the relay and setting an all-new Olympic time of 4:28.3 together with American teammates Catie Ball (breaststroke), Ellie Daniel (butterfly) and Susan Pedersen (freestyle). She took home a second gold medal for individual performance, in the 100-meter backstroke for women setting a new World Record (1:06.2) and beating Canadian Elaine Tanner by half one second (1:06.7). The bronze medal was awarded for third place in the 200-meter backstroke women’s event she was a bit just behind the fellow American Pokey Watson (2:24.8) and Canadian Elaine Tanner (2:27.40).
