Kathryn Jean Heddy (born February 4 in 1958) Also known as the name of her husband, Kathy Drum, is an American former world competition swimming champion, and the four-time Pan American champion.

Heddy was raised within Summit, New Jersey, where she was able to graduate early at the age of Summit High School on January 1976. This enabled her to concentrate on her training in the second part in her final year.

Heddy was also a participant at during the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Quebec, where she placed fifth in the freestyle event of 400 metres on the 20th of July.

Heddy was the representative for her country of the United States at the 1973 World Championships in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. In September, she took home an Olympic bronze medal for the 200-meter individual Medley. On September 8 Heddy took part in the silver medal-winning four-x 100 m freestyle relay team. In September 9 she placed 7th in the 100m freestyle.

Heddy enjoyed a lot of successes at her participation in the 1975 World Championships in Cali, Colombia. The 22nd of July, she claimed her gold medal at the 200 m medley in the world record time of 2:19.80 beating the powerful eastern German swimming team, Ulrike Tauber and Angela Franke. On the 24th and 25th of July, Heddy won bronze medals in the 400 m medley and the 400 freestyle, and freestyle, respectively. On the 26th of July she was one of the medalists in the silver medal-winning 4 100 freestyle relay. They American team had stolen their world-record from east Germans earlier in the year, and had swam 1.25 seconds slower than the mark in the finals however they fell short to East Germans who regained the world record and took home the gold medal. On the 27th of July, Heddy was fourth in the 100m freestyle, just 1/10th of a second off the bronze. She was forced to settle for four medals when she summed up her world championships of 1975.
