Prof. Karen Heather Vousden, CBE, FRS, FRSE, FMedSci (born 19 July 1957) is a British medical researcher. She is famous for her work with the tumour suppressor protein p53, and particularly her discovery of the vital regulatory function of Mdm2 as a potential treatment for cancer. From 2003 until 2016 she was director for the Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute in Glasgow, UK, moving back to London in 2016 to assume the post chief scientist at CRUK and Group Director of the Francis Crick Institute.

Vousden is a fellow member of the Royal Society (2003), Royal Society of Edinburgh (2004) and the Academy of Medical Sciences (2006) and was elected a member of European Molecular Biology Organization in 2004. In 2004, the Institute of Cancer Research awarded her an honorary doctorate of Science (Medicine) in the year 2006. She delivered an address at the Sir Frederick Gowland Hopkins Memorial Lecture of the Biochemical Society in 2008. She was given the Royal Medal from the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2009. Vousden was named to the rank of Commander Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2010 New Year Honours.
