Sylvia Gee (born 30 November 1977) is an ex- Republic of Ireland women’s international player who has been a major part of her playing career in numerous women’s football association leagues across both the Republic of Ireland and the United States. Between 2003 between 2003 and 2007 Gee has been a prominent participant as captain for the acclaimed UCD team that was able to qualify to play in the UEFA Women’s Cup on three consecutive occasions.

Gee was raised on the farm of County Laois before attending Wesley College, Dublin between 1990 between 1990 and 1996, where she was studying for her final Cert. While at Wesley, Gee played several games, including field hockey as well as indoor soccer. Eric Miller was one of her classmates. Between 1996 and 2000, Gee went to an institution called the University of Limerick where she was studying production management. While of UL, Gee also played association football for Listowel Celtic and Benfica. The year 2000 was the time she spent her summer playing for the Springfield Sirens in the USL W-League and in 2001 and 2002 she was part of Leeds United in the FA Women’s Premier League. While she was playing for Leeds, Gee also worked in the club’s ticket office.
In September of 1999 Gee was a player with her country, the Republic of Ireland in an away friendly match against in the United States. The next summer, Gee along with a few players from the Republic of Ireland teammates, which included Claire Scanlan, Geraldine O’Shea and Margaret Saurin, returned to the United States to played for Springfield Sirens in the USL W-League. In 2000, the Springfield Sirens won thirteen out of 14 games, and ended with the W-League 2nd division champs. Since 2008, Gee has been regularly working and training on the field in North America, mostly in the United States. In 2008, she played for MYSC Lady Blues and helped winning the Women’s Professional Soccer League Mid-West Conference. The seasons of 2010 and 2009 WPSL seasons, she played for Chicago United Breeze and Arizona Rush respectively. In 2011, Gee was a player with the London Gryphons in the USL W-League. In 2012, during the W-League season, she played in the USL W-League for Central SC Cobras. In the winter months, Gee went back to Ireland where she played with Tullamore Town in the Combined Counties Football League.
When the Women’s National League was inaugurated in 2011–12, Gee played for Cork W.F.C.. She was subsequently approached by Larry Mahoney, her former coach at UCD, to join him at DLR Waves. While playing for Waves, Gee was named WNL Player of the Month for November/December 2012. Gee was also selected for the 2012–13 WNL Team of the Season. In 2013–14 she was also inducted into the WNL Hall of Fame. During the 2014–15 season, Gee played for Peamount United, helping them reach the final of the WNL Cup. The 2015–16 season saw her switch to Kilkenny United. While playing in the WNL, Gee has also coached at Portlaoise A.F.C.
