In 2007 Braxton was named Detroit’s first center following the Shock trade of Ruth Riley to the San Antonio Stars. Braxton averaged 6.0 per game. In the final stretch in the regular season of 2007 Braxton was suspended by the WNBA was suspended Braxton during two of her games following a plea bargain. she admitted to driving while impaired by alcohol. Braxton was also banned for the initial seven games in the 2009 season due to the second DUI.
