Kaori Sakamoto is one of the most popular and richest Figure Skater who was born on April 9, 2000 in Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. Kaori Sakamoto (Ban Ben Hua Zhi Sakamoto Kaori born 9 April 1999) is a Japanese figure skater from Japan. She was her 2017 Four Continents champion, a two- time Skate America silver medalist (2017 2018, 2017) and in 2018, the Grand Prix of Helsinki bronze medalist as well as in 2018, the Japanese national champion and in 2017, she was the Japanese Silver medalist at the national level. She was 6th in the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Sakamoto was awarded medals in each in her 2016-17 JGP assignments Silver from France while gold was awarded in Japan Then she won her the Japanese senior title. Then, in December of 2016, she won her bronze award during the JGP Final in Marseille, France and was seventh at an elite level in the Japan Championships. She was slated to replace injured Satoko Miyahara for the 2017 Asian Winter Games but withdrew due to a cold. She was able to take home Bronze at 2017’s World Junior Championships.
At the 2017-18 Japan Figure Skating Championships, Sakamoto won the short program. In the free skate, she placed fourth and won the silver medal, her first senior national medal. Following the competition, the Japan Skating Federation named Sakamoto in Japan’s team to the 2018 Winter Olympics, alongside Satoko Miyahara. Sakamoto was named in Japan’s team to the 2018 Four Continents Championships with Miyahara and training-mate Mai Mihara. She was also selected as the first alternate for the 2018 World Championships, behind Miyahara and Wakaba Higuchi.
Sakamoto started her first full senior season at the 2017 Asian Figure Skating Trophy, placing first in both segments to take the gold. At the 2017 U.S Classic, she placed fifth in the short program and 4th in the free skate to place fourth overall, behind compatriot and gold medalist Marin Honda. Making her senior Grand Prix debut, she finished 5th at the 2017 Rostelecom Cup after placing fourth in the short program and fifth in the free skate. At the 2017 Skate America, she scored new personal best scores for both segments of the competition; she placed second in both the short program and free skate and won the silver medal overall behind teammate Satoko Miyahara.
Sakamoto began her season with finishing seventh in the JGP race held in Aichi, Japan. She was able to claim the Japanese silver medal at the junior level and then placed sixth in the senior division in the 2014/15 Japan Championships. These results earned her the chance to compete in the 2015 World Junior Championships, where she was 4th in the shorter skate and 6th in free skating and finished sixth overall.

Sakamoto began her skating lessons around in the year 2004 at Kobe. She was awarded her gold medal in the 2013-13 Japan Novice Championships and placed 9th in the Japan Junior Championships that same year.

In the free skate, she fell on the second jump of a planned double axel-triple toe loop-double toe loop combination, and doubled a planned triple loop to place second in the segment.
