Auger didn’t get along in the Heat and, prior to the beginning season of year 2018-19 ECHL season in the ECHL, Auger signed to a one-year deal for the Florida Everblades on October 18 in 2018.

Auger was a part of two years as an active player player in the AHL with the newly formed affiliate, The Ontario Reign, before he was signed to an one- year, two-way renewal on the 14th of July in 2017. The 2017-18 season was the first time that Auger played, and after playing three games for the Reign, Auger received his first recall to the Los Angeles Kings on October 17th, 2017. Auger had the NHL debut in the Kings on the same day winning 5-1 against the Montreal Canadiens. After two games without scoring with the Kings, Auger was returned for the rest of the season for his team, the Ontario Reign, posting 25 points over 65 games.

Auger began his junior hockey career for his team the Waterloo Siskins in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. He was picked at the time of the OHL Priority Draft, 112th overall, by Guelph Storm. Guelph Storm. He played with the Ontario Hockey League with the Storm during the 2011-12 season, before he was chosen to the Los Angeles Kings in the fourth round, 103rd overall at the time of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
