Juan Manuel Polar (born 24 September 1983 in Lima is a professional racer from Peru. He was previously a part of his own series, including the Indy Lights, Spanish Formula Three Championship and Formula Renault among other series.

Following the 2008 season, Polar returned to his country of birth. He races in the country’s TC2000 series.

In 2005, Polar began his climb into the higher levels of racing, aiming for The Spanish Formula Three Championship. The team he was with signed him by IGI Tec-Auto but later transferred to ECA Racing. In ECA Racing Polar finished third in the season’s finale at the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya. The following season, Polar participated in the Copa class in the Spanish Formula Three Championship. The Peruvian driver won four wins in the class and was ranked third in the competition just behind German Sanchez. In 2007, he was third at the Copa class, but this time, he was placed behind Thor-Christian Ebbesvik.

Polar began his auto racing career in 2000 when he was part of the Skip Barber Formula Dodge Southern Race Series. The race was held at Sebring International Raceway the Peruvian was the first to win an autorace. He ultimately competed in ten races of the series, winning four races and finishing with a podium finish eight times. The Peruvian driver ended up finishing 7th in championship. In 2001, Polar took part in the first Formula Dodge National Championship. In Sebring Polar was the winner of his single racing in this series. He won over Julio Campos and A. J. Allmendinger. In 2001, the Peruvian racer also took part in the opening stage of the Barber Dodge Pro Series season. In Sebring the driver qualified in the thirteenth position, but was unable to finish the race after making contact.

In 2002, Polar began his journey into Formula Renault, firstly the Mexican championship, and then in 2003 it was the British championship. The British championship, his best performance was eleventh in the final race of the season held at Oulton Park. In the initial four rounds in the 2004 British Formula Renault championship Polar was racing with Mark Burdett Motorsport, the final two rounds of the championship, he raced for Team AKA. In the final race at Donington Park the Peruvian driver placed eighth, which pushed him higher in the standings of the championship placing him 25th.

For 2008 he returned to the United States of America to race in the Indy Lights. He was first signed by Brian Stewart Racing. At Kansas Speedway Polar was replaced by Wade Cunningham which left Polar without a ride for the remainder of the season. He rejoined the field at Sonoma Raceway with Guthrie Racing.
