Jonathan Edward Brooks Callard (born on January 1, 1966, located in Leicester) has been a head coach in the rugby union’s National Academy. He played in the past for the rugby union as a fullback in Bath as well as England. Callard is brother to former Newport FC athlete Nigel Callard.

Callard was recruited to Bath at the age of Newport in 1989. In November 1993, he played his debut in international rugby in England in a match against All Blacks, which saw England create a shock and win 15-9. Callard made a good debut with 12 points scored from four penalties that worked. On February 24, 1994 in his second time in England, Callard was again the hero of England in the 1994 Five Nations Championship match between Scotland and England at the newly constructed Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

At the club level, in the league with Bath He was a part of an extremely successful team during the mid- to late 1990s which took home five English Courage League Premiership titles and five Pilkington Cup titles. His most memorable achievement was during his playing career, when he scored 19 points of Bath’s in the 1998 Heineken Cup final victory over Brive. In August 1998, Callard became assistant coach for Andy Robinson at Bath, prior to being promoted to Head Coach in the year 2000. In 2002, he became the assistant coach of Phil Davies at Leeds Tykes and then later appointed head coach for the England U21s. While at Leeds they were coached by him to win in the 2004 and 2005 Powergen Cup, in the final they beat his former team Bath. The Rugby Football Union’s National Academy in summer 2005.

Callard was appointed kicking coach to the senior England rugby team for the Rugby World Cup 2007.
