Lenko joined forces along with Jason Cheperdak in 2009, and the skaters began practice in Pennsylvania with their coaches Natalia Linichuk and Gennadi Karponosov. Lenko was forced out from skating in 2010 due to recurring health problems, and was later identified with Lyme disease.
Lenko/Islam took home two medals at the 2007/08 ISU Junior Grand Prix – bronze from the U.S. and bronze in Estonia — and qualified to compete in finals in the JGP Final. Due to health issues, they had to withdraw before the competition. They also were unable to participate in the 2008 Canadian Championships, where they had planned to compete at the higher level in their first attempt. Despite not participating, Skate Canada named them to the 2008 Junior World team. However, the health issues of Lenko persist, making them ineligible to compete in the event.

From 2000 to the year 2008, Lenko competed with Mitchell Islam. They were trained in the Mariposa School of Skating, under the guidance of the father of Mitchell Islam David.
For the 2006-07 ISU Junior Grand Prix season Lenko/Islam finished placed 5th overall in the Netherlands and took home an award of silver in Hungary. After securing silver at the junior team during the 2007 Canadian Championships, they were designated to at the 2007 World Junior Championships but withdrew from the original dance due to the illness of Lenko.
