In the middle of April, 2010 it was revealed that of the 34 year old Venta as well as Robert Pires would be leaving Villarreal. In the span of three years, he continuously battled for first-choice status alongside Angel Lopez, with both participating in the same amount of games. In the middle of August, he signed a one-year contract as a player with Levante UD, returned to the top division following an absence of two years.
In 2002-03, Venta came back to Villarreal and continued to be a regular first choice during the entire season. In the 2004-05 season, Venta was involved in 32 games during which the Valencian team finished in a record-breaking club third position; he was then selected as a player by Spain coach Luis Aragones in his provisional 27-man team to the 2006 FIFA World Cup, but Venta was not part of the selection.

Venta is a native of Pola de Siero, Asturias. After a brief stint in modest Spanish clubs, he was acquired at the end of 1999 in 1999 by Villarreal CF, but would be a part of the team for the next three years in his farm side (CD Onda) and also on loan periods.
The player made his La Liga debut in the situation in the 2001-02 season. He appeared in 29 league matches with CD Tenerife who ranked second in the bottom row.
On 11 July 2013, aged 37, Venta moved abroad for the first time in his career, joining Football League One club Brentford on a one-year deal with an option to extend to a second season depending on appearances. He scored his only goal for the club in a 5–3 win against AFC Wimbledon for the season’s Football League Trophy on 3 September, which also marked his fourth and final overall appearance; he had his contract terminated by mutual consent on the 30th, and returned to Spain for personal reasons.
