After two seasons playing for the Yellow Jackets in 2013, Carter Jr. moved to Maryland in June 2014. He was a junior red-shirt player and received honorable mention from both coaches and media for his all-Big Ten honorable inclusion. He averaged 12.3 points per game, 6.9 rebounds per match, and shot 55 percent from beyond the arc and 33 percent from the foul line. Carter graduated from college and declared for the 2016 NBA Draft.
