Jason Fitzsimmons (born June 3 in 1971) is a Canadian retired goalie in ice hockey who played for six years playing in both the ECHL and AHL particularly for the South Carolina Stingrays. Jason is currently an scout for professional teams with the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League.
The end of the 2006-07 season Fitzsimmons quit as head coach and also as an assistant coach. Former Stingray Jared Bednar became the head coach. He was later promoted to Scout with the Stingrays’ NHL affiliate, the Washington Capitals.
Beginning with the 1998-99 season, Fitzsimmons was the assistant coach for the South Carolina Stingrays. After the 2001-02 season the team became the head coach. The Stingrays enjoyed a lot of regular season successes under Fitzsimmons his coaching, racking up more than 188 wins during the five seasons that he served as coach. The Stingrays did not get beyond the second round in playoffs, and did not make it to the playoffs in the season he was coach for his final year.

Drafted out of the WHL in the 11th Round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft, Fitzsimmons made his professional debut with the Hamilton Canucks of the AHL in the 1992-93 season, playing in 14 games with a 4.04 goals-against-average. He was selected in 1994 by The Oilers In 1994 He was then able to spend the remainder part of his season with the ECHL as a member of Columbus Chill. Columbus Chill, posting 10 wins over 23 games.
Fitzsimmons discovered the majority of his success playing for his team, the South Carolina Stingrays, posting 24 wins over 37 games in the 1994-95 season. He brought victory to the brand-new hockey team. There were two more times with the Stingrays after this season before quitting as player and later being a coach assistant for the Stingrays. He was later inducted into The Hall of Fame of the Moosejaw warriors as well as the South Carolina Stingrays
