Janine Weber, a professional Austrian ice hockey player was born 19 June 1991. Weber is currently a member the Connecticut Whale of National Women’s Hockey League. Weber has previously played for the Boston Pride and New York Riveters, as well as the Canadian Women’s Hockey League’s Boston Blades. Weber was a Blades player and scored the Clarkson Cup’s winning goal. Weber is a member of the Austria women’s national ice hockey hockey team.

Weber was a participant in the 2015 training camp of Connecticut Whale, a member of the National Women’s Hockey League. She signed with the New York Riveters eventually, becoming not only the first franchise player to do so, but also the first NWHL player to be signed to a contract.

After two years with the Riveters, Weber signed with the Boston Pride for the 2017–18 season as a free agent.

In January 2020, Weber signed with the Connecticut Whale.

Weber was selected by the Boston Blades as a 2014 CWHL Draft pick. She made her CWHL debut against the Toronto Furies on 15 November 2014. The majority of the season was spent on the third line, with Jordan Smelker and Corinne Buie, who played at Providence with Weber. Weber was the first European player ever to score the Clarkson Cup-winning goal. The Hockey Hall of Fame received Weber’s goal-scoring stick. Weber is also the second European player who has won the Clarkson Cup. At the 2008 U18 Women’s Worlds, she made her international debut as a member of the Austrian women’s ice hockey team. Weber was the scoring champion at the 2013 IIHF Division I Group A Women’s World Championships.

Weber began graduate studies in education at Providence College. She was eligible to skate for one season with Providence Friars and suited up during the 2013-14 season. Weber made her NCAA debut against Union College on October 4, 2013. She also scored her first NCAA point. Weber would score the game- winning goal in Providence’s 19th Annual Mayors Cup.
