Gueye then was transfered later to Turkish Second Division side Samsunspor in February 2006, but he was able to join Serbian team Red Star six months later. The winter of 2009 Gueye joined Al-Ahli Jeddah. In the following season, after playing with Lokeren for three years the player signed a one-year deal with Serbian club Radnicki Nis.

Gueye began his professional life in Dakar UC in Senegal before joining another Senegalese club, AS Douanes. In in the spring of 2001 Gueye made his first foray into European football when signing a contract with Bulgarian record holder of titles CSKA Sofia. Gueye has won two national championships during his time at CSKA Sofia, in 2003 and in 2005.
He has been selected twice in the Senegal national team this is among the reasons he was not picked to represent Bulgaria despite coaches’ expressing that they would like to invite Gueye for Bulgaria’s European Bulgarian national squad. In the beginning (in 2005) Gueye declined invitations to participate in Bulgaria. Then, in February of 2008 Gueye declared himself available and was invited to play in a friendly match against Finland However, he was declared ineligible by FIFA because of his previous appearances with Senegal youth.
