Zubiaurre was also not a part of the team in 2007-08, when he was part of an 0-2 defeat at Getafe CF on 31 October 2007. After two years on his solitary position, Zubiaurre resigned to increase his playing time. He signed with second division club Elche CF on a season-long loan.
