Guerrinha was the head coach for numerous Brazilian clubs including Ribeirao Preto/Polti/COC ACF Campos and Bandeirantes/Rio Claro. The year 2016 was the first time he was director of Brazilian soccer club Mogi das Cruzes, after being previously the head coach of Bauru’s coach.
Guerra was member of Guerra’s senior Brazilian National Basketball team which took home in 1987 the Pan American Games, in Indianapolis. In the final game of the tournament that was played, the Brazilian team beat the host team, Team USA, 120-115, this was the first time Team USA lost a game in the role of a host for a tournament. It was also the first time that Team USA was defeated in an end-of-season game.
