Ulion (born May 4 1972) is an American hockey player. She was awarded the gold medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics. While at Dartmouth College, she was and remains one of the Dartmouth Big Green women’s ice hockey team’s top scorer, scoring 312 points and 189 goals she was the Captain for Dartmouth Big Green during the Dartmouth Big Green during the 1993-94 season. She was twice named the Ivy League Player of the Year.
Together with the other players from the 1998 gold medal winning team, Ulion was admitted to the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009. She was also presented with an award of a gold Key by the Connecticut Sports Writers’ Association on April 29, 2018.
In the gold-medal game in the 1998 Winter Olympics, Ulion scored the opening shot of the contest. The goal was also first goal that was scored at an Olympic women’s gold medal game in ice hockey. Ulion was prominently featured on the Wheaties box in 1998.
