Gregory Tyrone Spires (born August 12 1974) is an former American football defensive lineman who played in the National Football League. He was selected with the New England Patriots in the third round of the 1998 NFL Draft. He played for the college team in the state of Florida State.

Greg Spires became an unrestricted free agent following the 2001 season, and became a signed player by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Spires was able to find a home within his fellow Bucs as their consistent center at left defensive end from 2002 until 2007. The Bucs brought him in at the right time, when Bucs won playoffs and won Super Bowl XXXVII, which they lost to The Oakland Raiders. He racked up 47 tackles, 3.5 sacks, one forced to fumble, one fumble recovery and one defense of a pass facing right defensive tackle Simeon Rice. Due to the chemistry of this defensive team it was it was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers became the top pass defense as well as the most effective all-around defense of the NFL. Greg Spires, since then has been one of the top defenses in 2003, 2004 in 2005 and 2003 (where they were ranked first in the finals). He helped lead the Buccaneers to make the playoffs however, they fell in the wild-card round, to Washington Redskins. On February 27, 2008, the Buccaneers let him go.

Greg Spires played college football at Florida State University as a Seminole. He played four years as a player from 1994 to 1998. He was a four-year letterman from 1994 to 1998.
