It was a tough one for Perrier and he was unable to get past the first round of an World Cup event and stopped in the quarter-finals of the 2014 Pan American Championships. Perrier returned to the action at the 2014 Pan American Games by reaching the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, he was down to US’s Gerek Meinhardt. He was awarded the bronze medal.
In the 2013-14 season, Perrier earned bronze at the satellite tournaments in Amsterdam in addition to London. He made his debut on the World Cup podium with a bronze medal in Seoul beating on the way Olympic Team Champions Giorgio Avola and Valerio Aspromonte. The team made it to the quarterfinals of the Pan American Championships, but was defeated by Gerek Meinhardt from his home country of the United States. In the World Championships in Kazan Perrier fell his second match against reigning European champion James Andrew Davis of Great Britain. In the team event, Brazil beat their counterparts in the Czech Republic in the first round, only to be beaten by Italy and placed 17th. Perrier concluded his season No.26 in the world rankings, which is a career high thus far.

Perrier was born in Escrime Angouleme under the coaching of Benoit Gonsseaume and Jean-Loup Bolanger. Perrier was chosen to the French national team for the 2006 Junior European Championships in Poznan which earned them the bronze medal. They also qualified at the 2006 Junior World Championships, which they won the silver medal. Perrier later joined INSEP the state-funded centre for athletes with high performance. Perrier competed in the 2009 Summer Universiade in Belgrade and took home a bronze medal at the team competition. He placed second at the 2013, French national championships, after losing to Erwann Le Pechoux.
Following the 2012-13 season Perrier was enlisted from the Brazilian Fencing Federation to fence for the Brazilian national team, under the new rules that allow athletes to be called who meet other criteria other than national rankings. Perrier’s selection, and those of foreign-born athletes in other sports was considered by the press to be an attempt to increase Olympic medals and expectations in sports in which Brazil is not a major player and sparked comparisons with”Plastic Brit “Plastic Brit” phenomenon.
