On August 14, 2003, the player signed with Lincoln City on a free transfer. There he was brought back together with the former Northwich Victoria coach Keith Alexander. For two years playing for the Imps Taylor-Fletcher played 90 games scoring 30 goals. In the beginning of the 2004-05 season , he broke the club record of 106 years by scoring in the first six games of the season. He also took home the The Supporters Player of the Year award in the 2003-04 season. He also took part in the Football League Two play-off final in May 2005, where they were defeated by Southend United.
In January 2006, he scored against Chelsea in an FA Cup third-round match at Stamford Bridge, which, for seven minutes, put Town on level terms with the Premier League champions.

On 8 August 2006, Taylor-Fletcher scored the 500,000th goal in The Football League, with a 25-yard drive into the top-left corner, to lead the Terriers to a 3–0 home victory over Rotherham United.
He began his professional career playing semi-pro soccer (as Gary Fletcher) with Conference National club Northwich Victoria in 1999. There, he scored 18 goals in 43 games. Taylor-Fletcher made his debut as a senior with Northwich Victoria in 1999, and played 43 games in the league while in the team. At the close of his time there, he enjoyed an uninvolved loan period at Hull City, before switching permanent towards Leyton Orient in June 2001. It was a struggle to get in to Leyton Orient’s Leyton Orient team, and had a short loan stint for Grays Athletic, and two at Dagenham & Redbridge. At the end of August, 2003 following 21 appearances in the league with Leyton The Orient club, the Taylor-Fletcher was signed by Lincoln City; a successful time that saw him play 90 league games over two seasons. Then, he moved towards Huddersfield Town in June 2005 and played 81 league games in the span of two seasons. Taylor-Fletcher joined Blackpool on July 7, 2007 and became an established footballer for Blackpool. After 215 league games for Blackpool He then was signed by Leicester City in September 2013.
On June 8, 2001, Fletcher got signed on by a different Third Division club, Leyton Orient from Northwich for a sum of PS50,000 since he’d scored two goals against the club. In the following year, the club sent him for loan by Grays Athletic who were then in the Isthmian League. Fletcher recorded three goals across four league matches during a loan period which was in place from the 21st December until the 1st of March in 2002. Then, in October of 2001, Fletcher was one month on loan at Conference National club Dagenham & Redbridge and then returned for a second loan stint in December. He stayed until March.
Taylor-Fletcher was acquired by Huddersfield Town on a free transfer from Lincoln City on 14 June 2005. He scored a hat-trick against Chesterfield in the League Cup.

On 20 September 2013, Taylor-Fletcher joined Leicester City on a one-year deal. He made his debut just a day later coming on as a late substitute against his former side Blackpool. He scored his first goal for the Foxes in a 5–3 win over Bolton Wanderers at the King Power Stadium. Taylor-Fletcher made 21 appearances in the league (23 in all competitions), scoring three goals, as Leicester were promoted to the Premier League as champions. On 8 May, he extended his contract by a further year.
